Eastern European Holocaust Tour
February 14  – 23, 2014

The intention behind the journey is to put participants on the alert for their personal weaknesses and prejudices that can contribute to an inhumane world and to stand up immediately when noticing any injustice, like the bullying of classmates or co-workers.

THE PROPOSED ITINERARY



Feb. 14: 
Students leave U.S with luggage checked through to Berlin

United Airlines Flight #124L leaves Newark at 5:50 p.m

Feb. 15:
Arrive Berlin – City Bus Tour, Wannsee Villa
Berlin Sites:  Wall, Checkpoint Charlie Museum, Jewish Museum
Hotel:  Golden Tulip – Buffet Dinner

Feb. 16:
Visit female camp Ravensbruck, followed by lunch
To Dresden for visit to the inner city, Zwinger and Cathedral
Dinner in Town
Hotel:  Holiday Inn - Dresden

Feb. 17
To Poland – Lunch en route
 Guided Visit to Salt Mines
 Hotel:  Andel hotel; buffet dinner

Feb. 18
Guided Visit  Auschwitz-Berkinau
Schinldler’s Factory
Plaszgow Concentration Camp
Krakow City Walk
Hotel:  Andel Hotel; buffet dinner

Feb. 19:
 To Prague, Czech Republic, lunch en route 
 Guided Visit to Camp Terezin
 Dinner in Local Restaurant
 Hotel:  K & K Central Hotel
   
Feb. 20:
 To Salzburg, Austria, Lunch en route
 Visit Camp Malthausen; audio assisted tour
 Alp sightseeing; Unterberg cable car
 Eagle’s Nest (seasonal)

Dinner and city walk
 Hotel:  Im Lauer Hotel, Salzburg

Feb. 21:
 To Nuremberg
 Visit Nazi HQ – audio assisted guide
 Visit Courtroom and Museum
 Lunch – further to Weimar
Buffet dinner  and city walk
 Hotel:  Leonardo Hotel, Weimar

Feb. 22:
Camp Buchenwald, followed by lunch
Berlin – Student Choice – site visits
Hotel:  Golden Tulip; Buffet dinner

Feb. 23:
Homeward Bound!
United Flight #125L from Berlin - arrives Newark at 1:05 p.m.
